The annual Dreamweaver Design Award is a woven textiles competition sponsored by Warwick for current design students and graduates (up to 1 year out) to showcase their talents on the world stage.
The Award aims to highlight Australian Textile Design, and specifically the talent of our young Australian Textile Designers, which is of world standard. In addition, the Award endeavours to expose the great ability we have to manufacture and produce fabrics and furniture for the Australian furnishing industry that are sold and distributed not only locally, but throughout the world.
Entrants must design a woven upholstery fabric suitable for domestic furniture and make a presentation to a panel of industry representatives. Three finalists will be selected to work with the Warwick design team before having their fabric commercially woven. The woven designs are then manufactured into a piece of upholstered furniture.
The Award winning designer will travel with the Warwick team to Belgium in September experiencing the world's largest upholstery exhibition, MoOD (formerly Decosit). Airfares and accommodation will be paid by Warwick Fabrics.
The winning design becomes the property of Warwick (Australia) Pty. Ltd.
